Master Mind Map: Consul's Landing & The Scrapped Kingdom

This is the GM's quick-reference for how every plot thread, NPC, and faction connects.


1. THE ROOT THREAT: MALIKI (The Grand Architect)

Core Concept: Genius Gnome inventor/necromancer who caused a 200-year civil war using soul-powered machines. Believes biological life ("dissidents") must be cleansed and replaced by a perfect mechanical hierarchy.

Location: Ghost-in-the-Machine at the Gear Icon (river fortress). Goal: The "Grand Broadcast" -- a city-wide signal to control all constructs simultaneously.

Connections: - --> Krenko: Maliki is Krenko's patron/boss. - --> Parallax: Maliki created Parallax (Series 1) and needs his "Prime Soul Stone" to power the Grand Broadcast. - --> Mercury's Justice: Obsessed with finding this artifact to legitimize absolute rule. - --> Scrapped Kingdom: His original failed army litters the craters outside the city. - --> Hannibal Traven: Potential ally against Maliki if Traven discovers his return.


2. THE SYNDICATE & CHEESE CARTEL (The Industrial Hammer)

Core Concept: The criminal logistics network strip-mining the city to build Maliki's new army.

Key Figures

  • Krenko (Goblin Boss): Industrialist running "New Tin Street" and the hidden Foundry.
  • --> The Foundry: Building "Tokens" (Series 2 soul-less constructs).
  • --> Burning Roots: Dumps boiling thermal/alchemical runoff to hide industrial signature, killing the ecosystem.

Core Concept: The ruling body, largely unaware of the necromantic threat below.

  • Mayor Caspian Vane: Wants quiet and order. Wants "goblin problem" handled.
  • Mella Goldfinger: Arrogant. Views constructs as tools.
  • --> Labor Fraud: Unknowingly having her guild cleaned by a Dust-Skulker Goblin.
  • Thrain Ironfoot: Furious about stolen "Family Scrap."
  • --> Kings-Bane: Desperately searching for this stolen artifact.
  • Alysande Thorne: Monopolist who secretly funds the underworld.
  • --> Heinrich: Hates him because his 35% fish discount undercuts her protein market.
  • Vilkas Iron-Blood: Stretched thin stopping Bippy's raids.
  • Hannibal Traven: Bottom-tier politically, but hunts unregulated necromancy.
  • Captain Haldor Stout: Honest cop investigating "K" bracelets. Secret gambling addiction.

4. THE SHADOW RESISTANCE (The Symbiosis)

Core Concept: The fragile alliance keeping Maliki's forces trapped in the mountains.

  • Elder Rykar & The Dragonborne Enclave: Martial "Shield" for the warrens.
  • Big Boss & The Dust-Skulker Goblins: Eyes/ears for the Dragonborne.
  • Fred (Goblin Vendor): Sells the Cavern-Blind Trout.
  • --> The Economy: If the fish die or Heinrich stops financing them, the Dragonborne starve/leave and mountain passes fall to Maliki.
  • Vesper & The Thieves' Guild: Pragmatic traditionalists.
  • --> Construct Hearts: Hoarding Series 1 soul stones Maliki needs.
  • --> Queens-Grace: Hiding the legendary Dwarven Staff in their deepest vault.

5. THE ARTIFACTS & RELICS

  • Mercury's Justice: Shifts form. Inscription: "He who holds me is the one and only true King, always just." Grants authority over all constructs.
  • Kings-Bane (Scepter): Holds souls of Dwarven Kings. +2 Tactics. Demands honor (-2 if dishonorable). Status: Stolen, sought by Thrain.
  • Queens-Grace (Staff): Holds souls of Dwarven Queens. +2 Insight, psychic resistance. Status: Hidden by Vesper.
  • The Sovereign Union: Reunited, they deal 2d6 extra psychic damage and can pinpoint Mercury's Justice.
  • The Ruby Dagger (+1): Ancient Dwarven magic, dying bloodline. Stolen by Krenko --> Possessed by Splinter --> Stolen by Tibbald. Causes extreme party friction.
  • The "K" Tracking Bracelet: High-frequency tracker. Currently held by the Druid -- Krenko sees the party's exact location.

6. PARTY QUEST WEB

Parallax (Series 1 Construct General)

Active Quest: The Foundry's Breath. Parallax has tactical logic to navigate old warrens to find Krenko's Foundry, but his presence is a beacon to Maliki.

Master Splinter (Ratfolk Rogue)

Active Quest: The Labor Fraud Clock. Must keep the goblin cleaner secret from Mella while dodging Silas's blackmail. Also wants to reclaim the Ruby Dagger from Tibbald.

Tibbald (Tiefling Urban Ranger)

Active Quest: Bloodline of the Blade. Driving force behind unraveling the Ruby Dagger mystery. Must navigate Thrain's bounties and whispers of ancient kings trapped in the metal.

Heinrich Louis Vuitton (Human Bard)

Active Quest: The Symbiosis Crisis. Solely responsible for liquidating Cavern-Blind Trout at 35% off. If he fails, Dragonborne starve and city defenses collapse.

The Druid (Outcast Healer)

Active Quest: The Foundry's Breath. Primary goal is stopping toxic runoff. Because he holds the "K" bracelet, Krenko is tracking the party through him -- unwittingly acting as bait for Syndicate ambushes.
